ELECTION PROJECT

My entire class took a survey on isidewith.com which is a website where you answer several questions based on political views and then chose how important each view is to you. Once you have answered all the questions you are told a percentage of how many of each candidates policies you agree with. My survey resulted in me agreeing with 94.6% of Hillary Clinton's policies. In class we also had to answer the question of "What does it mean to be patriotic?". I ended up settling on the simple, yet widely inclusive, definition of "to be proud of one's country".

Everyone can become an educated voter just by simply paying attention to the media. Whether you read newspapers, watch the news, look at twitter's "moments" tab you can easily stay up to date on all the latest news about the presidential election. If you know what you believe in then you can stand for those values and if they get challenged you can fight for them.

During this project we were broken up into 4 teams across 2 classes with each team representing 1 of the 4 presidential candidates. Once in those teams we broke up into 3 smaller groups each covering 1 of 3 topics (Economy, Foreign Policy, and Social) Now that we had broken down into our smaller teams we set to work fact checking our candidates in preparation for a full town hall debate we would be holding. We had to compile facts, that we had to check and make sure were true, and use them to write a cohesive on opening statement for use during the debate. Once we had started wrapping up our opening statements we began working on videos that were supposed to fact check video clips of the nominees to see if what they are saying is 100% true. Once everything was all said and done we setup an exhibition where undecided voters could come and learn about all the candidates by watching our videos or by attending the mock debate.
