Mentor Interview Questions
What is a typical workday like?
90% Working with kids in class, there is a small amount of time that is individual planning, usually in the morning and afternoons. Also there is meeting with other adults.
What are your main duties and responsibilities?
To educate kids and keep them safe. To create a ciriculum
How is the organization structured?
It's structured where a teacher is a main designer of things. There is a lot of support between the teachers and the director and academic coaching staff.
Tell us about your path in getting to where you are today- what is your educational history and work experience prior to
working here?
I didnt think I would be a teacher until I was 24 or so, I was in advertising but I wasnt liking it. I tried teaching and found out I liked it.
Why did you choose to work here?
I chose to work here because I like the amount of creativity and freedom. Also how the people here treated students
What qualifications do employees need to be successful here and how are those qualifications acquired?
They need to be patient, believe in all people, and need to be creative
What other personality traits, skills, or knowledge are important to be successful here?
Being able to empathize and put yourself in other peoples shoes so you can think how they think
What advice do you have about working here?
Talk to a lot of people here and work a lot with their colleges

What projects do employees do for the company?
Projects they do are mostly projects they do for the students but there also are school projects that make the school better either astheically or for the students
Of all of these project ideas, which seem most appealing and appropriate and why?
The website about the videos was appealing because you(me) are interested in it and it would be helpful to me.
How could this project idea(s) be authentic, rigorous, and connected to the company’s purpose and/or mission?
It's authentic because we need it. It's rigourus because it deals with a lot of videos. It's connected to our mission because our mission is displaying studnet work
What type of support and skills will be required to ensure the project(s) is successful? Who might be able to help support you in completing the project?
Armondo and Donna can help me with T-Shirt design, and Brooke can help me with the website for the stop motion videos.
How might you present this project as part of the Internship Presentation of Learning?
The shirts and website are very tangibale things, also I can take pictures of me working with the students and present those as well.
